The term “configuration” means changes to the system using the built-in tools provided to the system administrator to configure things like fields (standard or calculated with a formula), layouts in various aspects inside Sugar, Teams, Roles, User Management, Security Management, data migrations, mobile configurations, Workflows, Reports and Dashboards.

For the avoidance of doubt, the term “customisation” refers to code-level changes to bring enhanced functionality or a custom integration.  Typically, 20% of our customer-base has some level of customisation.

Having built hundreds of systems over the past 7 years, our team of SugarCRM Certified system administrators are experts in configuring a solution that’s moulded around your business.

With new implementations, this is typically the second stage of the implementation, following the requirements workshops (link).
