Sugar records now have the ability to be defined by ‘Tags’. Tags are user-created keywords or phrases that allow the user to easily find, group and classify data by common characteristics. One of the great benefits of tags is that they can be created by anyone meaning that the relevant records can be identified by keywords that may not be defined via the basic database fields.

Tags can be used to identify records in global search, filters, dashlets or reports. As the tags can be created by anyone duplicates are a possibility as some users may choose to classify an account with ‘2016 Campaign’ and some may choose ‘Campaign 2016’, therefore it is recommended to clean the data on a regular basis and merge the records in question.
