I can’t find a way to change the order.  How is it done?

If you’re not familiar with changing the sub-panel order for the desktop experience of Sugar, you can do this by navigating to Admin > Display Modules and Subpanels.

There are two things wrong with this.

1.  This only changes the Desktop version, not the Sugar Mobile app.
2. This is a ‘global’ setting for all subpanels in all modules.  This is not module specific sorting.

If you’re looking for a way to modify the sorting of the sub-panels on the mobile layout for the Android and iPhone apps – then we have to address this with a little bit of code.

Sugabyte can create an installable customisation (installed via the Module Loader tool) which can do two things:

Re-arrange the subpanels on the Mobile App (for each module).  And Re-arrange the subpanel order for the desktop version of Sugar (again for each module).

This latest SugarCRM Mobile release adds the ability to import image or file attachments (e.g. .doc, .pdf, .xls, .jpg) from emails to the Notes module, as well as fixes for a number of issues identified in prior releases. With SugarCRM mobile you will always have quick and instant access to your customer data this is so important for people that are often away from their desk and traveling for work. When you are out on the road you don’t need the hassle of having to either get out your laptop or call the office to find out or log important information that just can’t wait. With SugarCRM mobile you can do all this from the road, Sugar will allow you to have the easy and instant access to either update records or find required information as well as being able to collaborate with the sales team at the office.

If you need to make a call while on the road, it really couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is find the contact, prospect or lead in CRM and select the “Call” button, from there you have the choice of selecting the office phone or their mobile number for example and this will then call out directly from Sugar, no more having to search for the number or copy and paste from email signatures. Once the call has come to an end Sugar will ask if you would like to log this against the record, if you choose to do so then Sugar will auto-fill most of the information such as call date and time all that you are required to do is enter your notes into the description, however, you don’t even need to type this as SugarCRM mobile supports the voice to text function available on Apple and Android mobile devices.

Unlike other solutions available SugarCRM mobile allows users to store their data offline directly onto their device, which in a world where blackout zones are still part of some people’s daily life, this is a great help. Even when you are offline you will always have the ability to access key information and create records. When your device leaves the blackout and regains connection to the world wide web Sugar will then sync in the background without any input needed from the mobile user.

In certain situations, it may be necessary to the mobile user, out in the field, to need to upload an image or file. With SugarCRM mobile, this is made easy as they can snap the image or video there and then and straight away upload this to Sugar allowing the users back at base in the office almost an immediate view of the file.
 

5. IT’S FREE

The SugarCRM mobile app is completely free with each commercial edition of Sugar, this is not a functionality that Sugar tries to upsell unlike a lot of mainstream vendors, it is all included.

This latest release addresses bugs identified in prior releases and includes the following new features and enhancements to the offline record download functionality:

• Users logging in for the first time will be prompted to download their records for offline access.
• Bulk download of records for offline access is performed in the background so that the mobile app can be used simultaneously. The download process will be suspended upon closing the mobile app and resume after re-launching the app.
• The number of records which can be downloaded per module has increased to 3,000 for the Accounts and Contacts modules and 1,000 for all other modules.
• Less important records are purged from the database once a module’s offline record limit has been reached.

We have also made the following compatibility updates:

• ^Updated SugarCRM Mobile 4.1.0 is now only supported for use with Sugar 7.7 and above.
• ^Updated For iOS users, SugarCRM Mobile 4.1.0 now requires iOS 9 or above.
