It’s common opinion among most business professionals that CRM (Customer Relationship Management) has done more for empowering the sales/marketing/support guys than just about anything else on the planet. Yet many companies are yet to deploy Mobile CRM. Why is this? Perhaps their current system does not support mobile, or perhaps the mobile technology level that is required for such systems just haven’t been around long enough.
2013 is a different story, however. And ‘mobile CRM ready’ is right up at the top of every CRM shopping list.
Almost every business professional today will sport some kind of ‘smart’ phone, so the battle is half won. The other half of the battle resides in your choice of CRM, already with many of them today having mobile offerings.
The internet, for many, was a revolution in terms of the ability to be able to sit pool-side, answer emails, and be productive just as you could be whilst in the office. Mobile CRM is an extension of that.
It enables the sales guys to keep in check with their planned activities and update data back to the main CRM in real time whilst on the road. It’s much the same case for support and marketing staff. Business today happens at 75,000 mph and the ability to be able to reach, retrieve and update in real-time is what will drive future business further.
I’ve seen many of the mobile offerings from the top 6 CRM vendors. Some have been smart, others a bit flaky and one refused to work at all. So the levels of intuitiveness, functionality and security vary widely, even among the top vendors. The best advice? Check them out for yourself and talk to existing users.
Here is the brand new offering from SugarCRM, just released. I think it works pretty well.
